Happy New Year!
On December 23rd, we packed our bags and started a motorbike trip around the north of Thailand. The result? Pure joy, as we fell in love with this country and its people even more.
Being on a motorbike for twelve consecutive days made me reflect deeply on my own idea of freedom, and I wrote the following on December 31st.
Nothing to do; nowhere to go; no one to be.
Freedom is my north star. For me, freedom means living without fear.
I’m scared often — daily, at times. But I have also experienced freedom more than once, and it tastes sweeter than honey.
3.5 years travelling while working remotely.
22 accommodations across three continents.
3 homes: Naarm/Melbourne, Barcelona, and Chiang Mai.
Countless memories and lessons to keep learning and unlearning.

I’m very proud to have developed the new visual identity for Itinerarios de Caligrafía / Kaligrafia Ibilbideak (ICKI), directed by my dear friend Sonia Beroiz. This newsletter is focused exclusively on this event.
Navarra, Spain Launches New Edition of Itinerarios de Caligrafía / Kaligrafia Ibilbideak (ICKI) to Celebrate Calligraphy in the Digital Age
After a first instalment held in 2019, the program once again champions calligraphy as an educational, artistic, therapeutic and social tool, while inviting reflection on our identity, learning, memory, health, and technology.
The initiative, led by designer and calligrapher Sonia Beroiz (Kö estudio), in collaboration with cultural, academic, and community organisations, will take place in Navarra between January and August 2026. It will combine workshops, lectures, labs, artistic interventions, and public events.
At a time when digital devices and typing dominate visual communication, “calligraphy emerges as a conscious, human gesture full of nuance: writing that thinks, that traces, that connects,” explains the project’s organiser.

ICKI Visual Identity: Sharing My Design Process
Sonia Beroiz asked me to developed this year’s visual identity which was super exciting and flattering at the same time! In this video in Spanish, I’m sharing the design process behind the visual ID, the steps I followed and the tools I used to create it. «¡Muchas gracias Sonia por confiar en mi!»

Mi intervención se centrará en los beneficios de la práctica caligráfica y cómo aplicarlos en los ámbitos de la comunicación visual, el branding, la educación y la producción artística.
Esta charla está dirigida a estudiantes de diseño y a profesionales en una etapa intermedia de su carrera interesados en aprender más sobre letras, pero que no se ven convirtiéndose en calígrafos a tiempo completo.
